Provided basic repair or major rehabilitation of 48 properties in Stafford, Spotsylvania, and the city of Fredericksburg during 2009. 

Is supported by about $60,000 per year in (tax-deductible contributions—and about four times that amount in donated skilled labor and materials. 

Is part of a national organization whose focus is on low-income home owners, particularly those who are elderly, disabled, or are families with children. 

Uses a local board of dedicated individuals, plus a part-time staff coordinator, to review what is needed, set priorities, and maintain the necessary follow- through.

Receives applications from homeowners by December 15, leading to on-sile evaluations of applicant homes during January and February, with work done in the spring 

Annually brings together skilled and unskilled volunteers from all walks of life to help their neighbors on National Rebuilding Day — the last Saturday of April.

Enlists local churches and groups as "sponsors" of a particular house, with each sponsoring group providing volunteers and a financial contribution.

Encourages friends and family members of home owners (sixteen years and older) to work beside its skilled and unskilled volunteers.
